Fuel Gas Boosting
The gas network operated by the local distribution company can be supplying gas at a wide range of pressures, from very low up to and above that needed by, for example, a gas turbine. In practice this means that the main that runs past your door, can be at a pressure of anywhere between about 20 mbarg and 60 barg.
On many applications, such as direct boiler firing, and electricity generation using reciprocating gas engines and gas turbines, it is necessary to install a gas pressure booster. Depending on required pressure rise, this booster can take form of centrifugal blower, positive displacement blower, rotary vane compressor, oil flooded screw compressor, or reciprocating compressor. GCL has wide experience in designing and constructing all these types of fuel gas booster.
