Flare Gas Recovery

At gas processing plants, oil fields and refineries, it has long been accepted practice, to allow significant quantities of potentially useful gas to run to flare. This was often because a ready customer was not available for this gas. Now particularly due to environmental concerns, it is becoming less accepted to flare large quantities of gas. Often a rotary vane or screw compressor is used to re-compress this flare gas back into a process or fuel line. In case gas is very heavy or corrosive, only rotary vane is suitable type.
